Water Channel Capacity on Jalan Prepedan Dalam Deepened

Water channel on Jalan Prepedan Dalam, Gang Jambu, RT 02/09, Kamal Urban Village, Kalideres Sub-district, West Jakarta is being widened.

Initial width and height of the channel was 40 cm

West Jakarta Water Resource Sub-agency Head, Purwanti, said the work is run along 400 meter by using U-ditch by 60 cm of width and 60-80 cm of height.

"Initial width and height of the channel was 40 cm," Purwanti said, Thursday (6/13).

According to Purwanti, the work is run to respond residents' request through last year Musrenbang. The project is being run from May 16 by private party and is targeted to complete on September 12, 2024.

"We hope that after it is widened, the capacity of the water channel will increase so that during heavy rain, the area will be free from puddles. Or if there is a puddle it will recede quickly," she added.

Meanwhile, Wahyudi (47), one of local residents, appreciated the effort conducted by West Jakarta Water Resource Sub-agency in order to minimize inundation during heavy rain or tidal wave.

"Hopefully the channel will be able to flow the water smoothly and minimize inundation," he hoped.
