Cheap Food Sales on Pramuka Island Get Positive Response from Locals

The Cheap Food Movement (GPM) held by the Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security Agency (KPKP) together with Perumda Pasar Jaya in the courtyard of the Seribu Islands Regency Plaza, Pramuka Island, Panggang Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands, received appreciation from residents.

This is an effort to help the residents

Jakarta KPKP Agency's Food Distribution Sub-Group Staff, Fitri Widia said the sale of food commodities at low prices was held to stabilize food supplies and prices ahead of the Idul Adha.

"This is an effort to help the residents to buy basic needs at affordable prices ahead of Idul Adha," she expressed, Friday (6/14).

According to her, since morning, residents had been coming to buy various kinds of necessities at prices cheaper than on the market.

The commodities sold were five kilograms of premium rice, Rp. 74,500, Rp. 14,000 for cooking oil, Rp. 17,500 for one kilogram of premium sugar, and Rp 5,900 for wheat flour per 500 grams.

"There are also red onions, Rp 18,000 per 500 grams, curly red chilies, Rp 13,000 per 250 grams, and cayenne peppers, Rp 11,000 per 250 grams," she explained.

She hoped that selling cheap food could relieve and help residents meet their food needs.

"No need to worry because the government guarantees stock, distribution, and price stability," she exclaimed.

The activity above received appreciation from Panggang Island Urban Village Head, Muhammad Fakih Burhanudin.

"It can help ease the burden on people in meeting basic needs, especially ahead of Idul Adha," he admitted.

One of the Pramuka Island residents, Ekawati (53) uttered necessities were sold at more affordable prices than market prices.

"This is very helpful, more effective and efficient, so you can save money. Hopefully, it can be held more often," she stated.
