The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Agency (KPKP) is holding a bazaar for cheap food and MSME products at the Jakarta KPKP Agency office, Jalan Gunung Sahari Raya, Central Jakarta, from April 3 to 4, 2024.
This is part of the Jakarta Government controlling food prices
Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati stated the cheap food bazaar is part of the cheap food movement (GPM), to stabilize food prices and affordability in Jakarta.
This bazaar involved Perumda Dharma Jaya and Perumda Pasar Jaya, then MSMEs and Bulog.
Cheap Staple Food Market Held at Nagrak FlatThe food available at this bazaar included five kilograms of medium rice, five kilograms of premium rice, granulated sugar, cooking oil, wheat flour, meat, eggs, syrup, chicken meat, and fishery products.
"There are livestock products, various fishery products, biscuits and pastries, MSME products, and other daily necessities," she expressed, Wednesday (4/3).
To ensure smooth food distribution, the Jakarta Provincial Government was increasing activities that facilitate access to food for the community, including GPM. Moreover, this bazaar was also held in five city areas and districts last March.
"Because ahead of Ramadan and Idul Fitri, food demand and prices increase and this is part of the Jakarta Government controlling food prices," she stated.
