Jakarta Smart City Attracted Myanmar Govt

Jakarta Smart City which initiated by Jakarta Provincial Government seemingly had successfully attracts Myanmar’s government. They get excited with the program which aimed to facilitate Jakartans to report city’s problem for instance waste, traffic congestion, flood, damage road, and so on.
They wonder about Jakarta Smart City. How is the strategy for citizen to participate and give input or complain if the government service is unsatisfied, and also how we can get the information quickly to solve the problem
Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidajat expressed that Myanmar’s government see there is similarity between Jakarta and Yangon, previous capital of Myanmar which had 5.1 million of population.
“They wonder about Jakarta Smart City. How is the strategy for citizen to participate and give input or complain if the government service is unsatisfied, and also how we can get the information quickly to solve the problem," he said at City Hall, Friday (4/24).

“We exchange the information regarding city’s development between Yangon and Jakarta. Concerning both countries have dense population. They wonder about transportation development in Jakarta. Based on the information, the traffic in Yangon isn’t as bad as in Jakarta, Myanmar government also interest to build MRT,” he explained.
Nevertheless, he continued, since there is no cooperation agreement, because it is still in discussion process. We have to comparative study there, because based on the information in Yangon everything runs orderly,” he added.
He plans to visit Yangon regarding the sister city cooperation. According to him, Myanmar has tight historical bound with Indonesia, Myanmar is one of member country who initiated Asia Africa Summit.
“The former of Myanmar prime minister had strong relationship with Soekarno, former of Indonesian President as well as have strong willingness to liberate countries in Asia-Africa. Comparative study not only in advanced country but also in developed country,” he disclosed.
