The West Jakarta Health Sub-agency has noted that the number of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) cases has experienced a drastic decline in June 2024.

In the last three months, the case has continued to decline

West Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Erizon Safari said that based on the data, the number of dengue fever cases was recorded at 797 in April 2024. This number declined again in May 2024 to 777 cases and dropped significantly in June 2024, to 337 cases.

"In the last three months, the case has continued to decline," he expressed, Monday (7/8).

According to him, the decline in dengue cases was thought to have occurred due to the current season's trend. Then the eradication of mosquito nests (PSN) continued to be intensified by Jumantik cadres, Jumantik Mandiri, and urban villages and health centers or puskesmas.

Section and Disease Control Head, Arum Ambasari explained that despite the trend of dengue fever cases continuing to decline, his party still urged the public to always be alert.

He added steps or efforts to prevent dengue fever must continue to be taken, such as routinely cleaning water reservoirs, keeping the environment clean, and maintaining Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS).

"Weather factors and air humidity have the potential to become breeding grounds for the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which can carry the virus that causes dengue fever. So, PSN using the 3M method must still be conducted," he stated.
