Fire Burns Fast Food Kiosk on Jalan Muchtar Raya

Six fire engines extinguished the fire, destroying a fast food kiosk on Jalan Muchtar Raya, RT 04/11, Petukangan Utara Urban Village, Pesanggrahan Sub-district, South Jakarta.

No casualties in the incident

South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) Head, Syamsul Huda said his personnel received a report of the incident from residents who came directly to the Pesanggarahan Damkar Post, at around 4.51 AM.

"We immediately dispatched four fire engines and 40 personnel, including two fire engines from West Jakarta," he expressed, Wednesday (7/10).

Assistance Given for Fire Survivors in Pisangan Timur

He explained the situation was sterile for less than one hour.

"Or precisely at around 5.55 AM. No casualties in the incident," he explained.

He added an electrical short circuit allegedly triggered it.

One of the residents, Jujun (48) admitted she saw the fire had spread from the back of the kiosk and had reached the top of the building. She and other residents tried to open the kiosk and wake up the employees sleeping inside, then put out the fire with whatever water they had.

"The fire was so big that it was difficult to put out. Luckily, the fire came quickly and luckily it didn't spread to other buildings," he stated.
