116 Wild Cats on Tidung Island Sterilized

Seribu Island Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency together with Let's Adopt Indonesia (LAI) community conducted sterilization and anti rabies vaccination for 116 wild cats on Tidung Island, Seribu Selatan Island Sub-district, Wednesday (7/10).

We sterilized 50 male and 66 female cats

On that occasion, local residents were also able to get anti rabies vaccine for their pets freely.

Seribu Island Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency's Animal Husbandry and Health Section Head, Sandri Oktama, said this program is aimed to reduce will cat population on Tidung Island.

"We sterilized 50 male and 66 female cats," he said.

Not only to handle the population, the program is also aimed to prevent rabies spread on the island.

"This is important for local residents here," he added.
