Disparekraf Promotes Jakarta Tourism at Domestic Tourism Promotion Business Forum

The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf), held an integrated tourism promotion through the implementation of the Domestic Tourism Promotion Business Forum (Jakarta Travel Fair) in Pekanbaru, some time ago.

It is in support of the Proud to Travel in Indonesia (BBWI) program initiated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and to encourage the mobility of domestic tourists to Jakarta which directly involves the Jakarta tourism industry.

This Domestic Tourism Business Forum involves active participation from the Jakarta tourism industry, including airlines, hotels, tourist destination managers, shopping centers, travel agencies, and small and medium businesses, both as participants and sellers.

Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Head, Andhika Permata said the Jakarta Provincial Government strongly supports the National Proud to Travel Movement in Indonesia with a target of 1.4 billion domestic tourist movements. It was expected that it could encourage continued tourist visits to Jakarta.

He explained it could be a strong bridge to increase synergy between Jakarta tourism actors and various stakeholders in other cities, as well as encourage economic growth through the tourism sector.

"Besides being an opportunity to strengthen business relationships, it also allows tourism businesses to introduce their products and services. Hopefully, it can be an effective tool to expand market reach and increase the visibility of Jakarta's tourist destinations," he explained, Friday (7/19).

He also hoped that it could support government programs to improve the creative economy and drive the local economy.

"By involving various sectors, I hope it can be a catalyst for sustainable and inclusive tourism growth," he hoped.

As for the information, this forum was initiated to bring together tourism industry players, from hotels to travel agents, as well as local communities to collaborate in developing Jakarta's tourism potential.

It is a strategic platform to discuss innovations in tourism marketing, strengthen cooperation between stakeholders, and present various attractive promotional packages that can attract domestic tourists.

One of the highlights of this forum is the corporate gathering, destination presentation, and business networking sessions to provide opportunities for exhibition participants/exhibitors from Jakarta to inform about the progress, diversity, and uniqueness of the city of Jakarta, thus it can be considered as a destination of choice for corporate, school, official, travel, BUMD, as well as communities outside Jakarta.

It is also supported by private offices (corporate), government offices, as well as local Travel Bureaus (BPW) during the implementation of Table Top Business to Business. Apart from Pekanbaru, it was also held in the cities of Semarang, Balikpapan, and Manado.

He added the expected result of the event is the creation of new partnerships between the Jakarta tourism industry and potential local buyers from each city.

Hopefully, service providers can encourage participants to be more optimal in interacting with buyers in a bid to create the potential for mutually beneficial business transactions for the tourism industry in Jakarta and other cities.

"Additionally, the long-term target of implementing the Domestic Tourism Business Forum is to increase the number of domestic tourist visits from these four cities," he closed.
