The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) is holding a Familiarization Trip (Famtrip) for the Food Blogger Team from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to several favorite culinary tourism destinations in Jakarta, from July 14 to 15, 2024.

"Famtrip with Food Blogger participants and journalists from Saudi Arabia, as well as Counselors and staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh, is one of the efforts to promote Jakarta as a tourist destination for the world community, especially tourists from Middle Eastern countries," he explained, Wednesday (7/17).
Marketing and Attractions Section Head, Sherly Yuliana stated the Food Blogger in question was an Influencer, Hisham Baeshen; as well as a chef and Brand Ambassador from Saudi Arabia, known for specializing in trendy foods.
"Hisham Baeshen is one of the Top 20 Most Influential Chefs in the World, with more than 50 million followers and 800 million views on his social media accounts," she explained.
She explained Hisham's activities during the Famtrip were covered by Saudi Arabian media and would also be published on her social media, which has many followers, including the Instagram account @misho_baeshen with 4.6 million followers, Hisham Baeshen's Facebook account with 5.2 million followers, Tiktok account @misho_baeshen with 3.3 million followers and Snapchat account (foody_moody with 1 million followers.
"Thereby, indirectly the tourist objects visited by him while participating in Famtrip activities in Jakarta will be widely exposed in Saudi Arabia," she explained.
Overseas Tourism Marketing Sub-Group Chairwoman, stated that in this Famtrip, participants were invited to cook Betawi Gado Gado with the Chef at the New Batavia Cafe Restaurant.
After exploring the Kota Tua area, they were introduced to the mixing of herbal medicine and spices in Selamatki. Next, They were then presented with the popular Kebon Sirih Kambing Fried Rice and taught to mix spices and cook together.
On the second day, they were invited to a live cooking collaboration with Borobudur Hotel's authentic menu, namely, Jakarta Oxtail Sop with the Borobudur Hotel Executive Chef, then enjoyed culinary and authentic dishes typical of Jakarta and Indonesia at Tugu Kunstring Restaurant in the afternoon, ending with an introduction to the shopping centers at Grand Indonesia and Thamrin City.
"By involving well-known KOLs from Saudi Arabia and utilizing social media strategically, this Famtrip is expected to attract the interest of potential foreign tourists, especially from that country, to visit and increase Jakarta's visibility as a major travel destination.
