North Jakarta Mayor, Ali Maulana Hakim uttered that it was very important for children's health, especially in preparing the next Golden Generation.
The Polio PIN target is for all children aged 0-7 years. In the North Jakarta area, there are 218,303 children or a daily target of 31,186 children. Hence, pentahelix collaboration is needed with all elements to achieve the target.
"Besides at Posyandu or hospitals, we will also hold it at RW offices, RPTRAs, places of worship, tourist attractions, malls, and other public places," he explained.
Even though Polio disease has not been found in Jakarta, immunization must still be held and is a shared responsibility.
"Through readiness and cooperation, we're optimistic that we can achieve the highest and most equitable Polio immunization coverage in North Jakarta. We can even exceed the minimum target by 95 percent," he uttered.
North Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Lysbeth Regina Pandjaitan added the first round of PIN Polio will be held from July 23 -August 3, 2024. The second round will start from August 6 - 17, 2024.
"Hopefully, this first round can be successful and exceed the target. We have mobilized all health workers and non-health elements to intensify this immunization," he uttered.
