Pasar Jaya to Revitalize Pramuka Market This Year

Perumda Pasar Jaya continues to encourage market development and revitalization.

It is a part of ongoing efforts to improve traditional market facilities in Jakarta

Previously, they inaugurated two markets at the same time in early 2024, namely, Jati Rawasari Market and Cilincing Market. Including Pramuka Market on Jalan Pramuka Raya, Palmeriam Urban Village, Matraman, East Jakarta will be revitalized this year.

Perumda Pasar Jaya's Public Relations Manager, Agus Lamun said the Pramuka Market revitalization aims to improve comfort and convenience services for traders and visitors.

"It is a part of ongoing efforts to improve traditional market facilities in Jakarta," he expressed, Thursday (7/25).

He explained Pramuka Market is known as a sales center for medicines and medical equipment with adequate facilities such as houses of worship.

This work includes improving infrastructure (renewing ME and plumbing installations) by renovating buildings to improve the facade with a more modern design, modernizing facilities, and improving environmentally friendly services such as utilities, mosques, and more adequate parking facilities.

"It will also restore the function of green open space which can be used as a public facility, surely by improving the ventilation and lighting system to create a healthier and more comfortable environment, by adding Betawi ornaments without abandoning the local wisdom in Jakarta," he explained.

Hopefully, the market could be the community's main choice to meet their health needs in the future. He assessed, a more modern, clean and orderly market would provide a better shopping experience and improve the welfare of traders.

He was committed to creating a better market environment for traders and visitors.

"Besides improving convienence, it also has a positive impact on the local economy and preserves traditional markets amidst the onslaught of the digitalization era as well as concrete evidence in realizing Jakarta as a global city," he stated.
