Fraud Case Involving 5 Teenagers Uncovered

A worker trafficking fraud case was successfully thwarted by the ranks of East Jakarta Administration. The case itself has involved 5 teenagers as victims from Tegal, Central Java. 

I was offered a job in PT Yamaha by Mrs. Ira. I would be recruited if I was willing to pay money by Rp 1.5 million and additional cost Rp 2 million

Those victims are identified as Rafi (20), Supriadi (19), Raisa (19) and Diyah Ayu (19) from State Vocational School (SMKN) 3 Warureja Kabupaten Tegal, as well as Nova Aji (19) from 1 SMKN 1 Kabupaten Pemalang, Central Java.

Fraudsters Under the Guise of Ring Stone Arrested

Based on the information gathered, the five victims claimed they were offered a job in PT Yamaha by a woman, Ira (45). They could be recruited, as long as they wanted to pay money by Rp 1.5 million per person and additional cost Rp 2 million which should be paid in installments after they work three months. After they agreed, they then left their hometown riding Dewi Sri Bus and went to a dorm a.k.a Meatball Stall at Jalan Raden Inten, Buaran, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta. When they arrived around 2 hours, they were surprised by the arrival of the officers who were holding raid in dorms, Tuesday (4/28) night.

To officers, Ira claimed as a mother of the two victims. But, recently, she is known to work as a broker. Not long after, she immediately fled when the officers tried to collect the victims' data.

“I was offered a job in PT Yamaha by Mrs. Ira. I would be recruited if I was willing to pay money by Rp 1.5 million and additional cost Rp 2 million. It must be paid in installments three months. Honestly, I didn't know that the building is a dorm which was previously recognized as her relative's house. In fact, she fled and her cell phone is not active,” told one of the victims, Diyah Ayu.

East Jakarta Mayor, Bambang Musyawardhana acknowledged he was concerned over the case that experienced by five victims. At this time, they have been secured in Ceger Social House, Cipayung, East Jakarta. They would be sent back to their hometown in the near future.

“The victims are victims of fraud. We successfully foiled the case during raid. You know what, they were asked to pay Rp 1.5 million to get a job. We also seized some receipts,” he uttered, when he led raid in the field.
