Optimize Tax Supervision, City Will Integrate Smart City With Tax Payer

To compensate for the increase in the tax sector which is still a mainstay in increasing revenue (PAD), Jakarta Provincial Government will increase the tax supervision by integrating Smart City application with the taxpayer (WP). Through this system, the residents of the capital can participate in supervising of taxes revenue in Jakarta directly. Moreover, the residents will be rewarded if they are active in supervising the tax revenue.

Through the supervision from the residents will encourage all people to pay taxes

"Now, we want to prevent wastage in income after we tried to prevent wastage in spending. I would like to invite the community to supervise directly through Smart City system," told Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) in City Hall, Thursday (4/30).

Ahok admitted, the tax revenue in Jakarta has never reached the target because there are unscrupulous tax officials who cooperate with the taxpayer such as restaurant owner.

"So I emphasize, if we still find any tax officials who cheating, we will demote them, and we will fire them from Provincial Working Unit (SKPD). Now, I have the data about the tax, so the revenue should excess the target," he said firmly.

Ahok also threaten the restaurant owner who not pay tax and cooperate with tax official to be punished.

 "The restaurants which not pay tax and the unscrupulous officials will be punished," he stressed.

Ahok added, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) already have a count of tax leakage number in Jakarta.

"I still don't know how many the losses, but the Asian Development Bank (ADB) had the count about it," he told.

Furthermore, the residents in capital who involved in tax revenue supervision will get cash incentives 3 percent from the wage tax collection of the total amount of taxes.

"We can give 3 percent from wage tax collection for all residents who help us to monitor tax," he uttered.

Ahok optimist, this system will increase the number of tax revenue and support the community to obey taxes.

"Through the supervision from the residents will encourage all people to pay taxes," he said.
