40 Firefighter Personnel Extinguish Fire in Pancoran

As many as 40 South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency personnel extinguished fire that burned a shophouse on Jalan Pancoran Timur Raya, RT 07/09, Pancoran Urban Village, Pancoran Sub-district.

South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency Head, Syamsul Huda, admitted the incident report was delivered through an emergency call at 01:10 AM.

"Then we directly deployed 10 firetrucks with 40 personnel for immediate handling," he said, Monday (8/12).

Huda added that the fire that destroyed a 300 square meter shophouse occupied by two families was allegedly caused by an electrical short circuit in one of the employee rooms.

"Personnel successfully extinguished the fire fully at 02:20 AM. There is no victim caused by the incident," he added.

Meanwhile, Hasan, shophouse owner, explained the fire was firstly seen in one of sleeping employee rooms. Residents also tried to extinguish the fire, but it grew rapidly.

"Luckily the firefighter personnel came on time to avoid fire burning other buildings," he stated.
