Related to island reclamation for waste management, the commission assessed that Jakarta Provincial Government's Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) in Bantar Gebang and Rorotan, waste filters, waste banks at the RW level and the construction of 20 TPS3R are possible to handle waste problem.
"Island reclamation for waste management is not necessary. The additional of TPS3R next year is enough to optimize the waste handling," Ida continued.
Ida stated that island reclamation for waste management is also very vulnerable to triggering or increasing environmental pollution.
According to Ida, RDF's waste management is more feasible and profitable since there is no tipping fee and the processed waste has economic value.
"RDF can be added by using land owned by Jakarta City Park and Forestry Agency by 60 ha. RDF only needs 3-8 ha," Ida said.
Ida requested the regional apparatus organization (OPD) work partners to plan and implement the procurement based on the procedure.
"It's now entering transition period and the time is limited. Please do not brake the regulation," Ida stated.
