Fire Occurred at Centra Cakung Apartment

One unit of Centra Apartment, Jalan Sentra Timur, Pulogebang, Cakung, East Jakarta, Wednesday (8/28), burnt at 6:54 AM.

Personnel then extinguished the fire in 40 minutes

East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency Officer, Sunaryo, explained the incident occurred at 6th floor of Yellow Tower No. 0623. Electrical short circuit caused the incident.

"The electrical short circuit happened while the unit owner cooking rice," he explained.

One of the unit residents suffered burns of around 80 percent and were immediately rushed to Pondok Kopi Islamic Hospital for medical treatment.

Sunaryo added his side deployed 12 fire trucks with 60 personnel.

"Personnel then extinguished the fire in 40 minutes," he added.

Now the case is being handled by Cakung Sector Police for further investigation.
