Personnel Extinguish Fire Engulfs Pertamina Central Hospital

As many as 85 personnel of South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency extinguished fire on the fourth floor of Pertamina Central Hospital (RSPP), Gunung Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru Sub-district.

South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency's Operational Section Head, Triyanto, said the case was reported at 1:32 PM.

"Then we directly deployed 20 firetrucks and 85 personnel," he said, Monday (8/26).

Triyanto explained that the fire that originated from one of the rooms on the 4th floor that was being renovated could be localized and cooled down at 2:30 PM.

"We have successfully handled the fire and smoke in all the rooms. We declared the entire extinguishing process finished at 3.30 PM and the alleged cause of the fire is still under investigation by the authorities," he explained.

Meanwhile, Acting President Director of Pertamedika IHC, Lia Partakusuma, stated 134 patients were successfully evacuated to a safe place when the fire occurred.

"We handled it quickly and well. All of our nurses and doctors remain on standby waiting for patients until they return to inpatient room," she stated.

Director of Pertamina Central Hospital, Neni Herawati, admitted hospital services has been running after the incident except the burned area.

"Inpatient registration is temporarily stopped this afternoon since the lobby used for registration is still being handled by officers. We'll open it tomorrow," Neni said.

Neni expressed her gratitude to all officers who helped in extinguishing process.

"We appreciate the handling run by the officers. It is hoped the service will be able to normal soon," she hoped.
