Channel Normalization on Jalan Krekot III Keeps Being Accelerated

The water channel normalization on Jalan Krekot III, RW 05, Pasar Baru Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta keeps being accelerated. The work progress has touched 89 percent and is targeted to be completed by the end of September.

It has been ongoing since June 2024 by sending 10 personnel every day

Sawah Besar Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head, Yusuf Sumardani said the channel was normalized, as residents proposed repairs because water from the channel often overflowed when there was heavy rain for a long time.

"We try to do normalization by enlarging the channel and the material we use is a size 80 U-ditch," he said, Wednesday (9/3).

Channel Normalization on Jalan Baru Completed

He explained the channel was previously only about 50 centimeters wide and about 60 centimeters high. The previous channel retaining wall material was also recently replaced using 80 centimeters high and wide U-ditch concrete material.

"It has been ongoing since June 2024 by sending 10 personnel every day," he expressed.

He explained the work covered 250 meters along the road. Besides deploying personnel, the work also involved a mini excavator unit.

"The realization of work in the field is in accordance with the demands of residents. It is targeted for completion by the end of this month," he asserted.

The work received appreciation from one of the residents from RW 05 Pasar Baru Urban Village, Reza.

"Hopefully, it can finish on time before the rainy season," he hoped.
