Early September, Channels Normalization on Jalan Cempaka Putih Tengah Completed

The channel normalization located on Jalan Cempaka Putih Tengah 27, RT 11/05, Cempaka Putih Timur Urban Village, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, which has been underway since Wednesday (8/21) is targeted for completion in two weeks or early September.

Cempaka Putih Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head, Subandi said normalization was conducted by increasing the channel width from 30 to 60 centimeters with 50 centimeters in depth.

He explained the channel was normalized using U-Ditch concrete completed with a concrete cover on the top.

"As the intial stage, our personnel prepare the trace," he explained.

According to him, it was done to maximally handle flooding in the rainy season.

"The point is we do channel enlargement," he concluded.

The work received appreciation from one of the residents in RW 05, Cempaka Putih Timur Urban Village. Hopefully, it could accommodate water in large quantities during the heavy rain.

"Hopefully, it can be completed quickly," he hoped.
