Progress of Sidewalk Arrangement in Pondok Kelapa Reaches 40 Percent

The progress of the sidewalk arrangement on Jalan Raya Pondok Kelapa RW 04, 11, and 14, Pondok Kelapa Urban Village, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta has currently reached 40 percent.

It is targeted to be complete in November 2024

East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency Head, Benhard Hutajulu stated the sidewalk arrangement has been ongoing since early August.

"It is targeted to be complete in November 2024," he expressed, Monday (9/9).

Area Arrangement in Rambutan Completed

He explained the sidewalk would also be completed with disability guide tiles, benches made of fiber composite material mixed with a special liquid, and bollards would be installed at each end of the sidewalk so that it could not be crossed by motorbikes or vendor carts.

"The sidewalks we build are all disability-friendly and have the aesthetic beauty of the city," he explained.

He added it was done on both sides of the road starting from the intersection of Jalan Laksamana Malahayati to the intersection of East Flood Canal (KBT).

"Because it is quite long, the work is done in stages," he uttered.

Road and Bridge Section Head, Akli Naim added that on the west side of the road, the sidewalk arranged was up to 537 meters with three to four meters wide. While, on the east side of the road, it was 475 meters long and 3.6 to 4.5 meters wide.

"The sidewalk is also built as a drainage tank for the installation of underground utility networks," he explained.

Aside that, the Vendor, Angga explained that in its arrangement, his party was also improving and elevating the channel's sheet pile because the existing condition of the retaining wall roof was not level with the sidewalk, it was lower.

"Its elevation uses river stones of around 20-50 centimeters," he closed.
