Sibling Pair Bring Table Tennis Gold for Jakarta

Jakarta table tennis team again won a gold medal in the women's doubles event in PON XXI Aceh - North Sumatra 2024 on Tuesday (9/17) afternoon.

Alhamdulillah (thank God), table tennis has won two gold medals, one silver, and one bronze

This additional gold means that the table tennis sport has contributed two gold medals from the team and women's doubles events.

Jakarta Table Tennis Team Manager, Wahyudin said the women's doubles duo Mira Fitria and Rina Sintya won a gold medal after defeating their teammates Desi and Anastasya in the All Jakarta Final at the Angsapura Sports Hall, Medan, with a fairly convincing score of three straight sets 11-4, 11-9, and 11-7.

Jakarta Leads Medal Standing at PON XXI

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), table tennis has won two gold medals, one silver, and one bronze. This medal achievement is something to be grateful for considering the strength of table tennis which is already evenly distributed," he explained after the game.

Regarding the success of the Mira Fitria and Rina Sintya siblings, it was indeed as predicted.

"Mira and Rina are the strongest couple Jakarta has. Alhamdulillah, we were able to create an All Jakarta Final," he uttered.

Jakarta Indonesian Table Tennis Association (PTMSI) Chair, RBJ Bangkit uttered his team was targeting to win three gold medals at PON XXI.

"We eye three gold medals from the seven competition numbers that are included," he stated.
