Heru Inaugurates Revitalization Results of Ex-Fire Area in Menteng

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, inaugurated the results of the revitalization of the residential area on Jalan Anyer, RT 06/09, Menteng Urban Village, Menteng, Central Jakarta. This area was revitalized after being affected by a fire in 2023.

"There are about 20 houses affected by fire last year and today have been revitalized, including five houses revitalized related to TB control," he expressrled, Wednesday (10/2).

He expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Central Jakarta Baznas Bazis, PAM Jaya, and PAL Jaya, as well as PLN who have supported the implementation of this area renovation by preparing clean water, household waste and electricity installations.

Then to the beneficiaries, he hoped they could be pioneers in educating other residents to maintain electrical installations in their homes. Because as many as 68.6 percent of fires in Jakarta occured due to electrical short circuits.

"Here there are (representatives) of three mothers, tell the community, if you leave the house or use electricity, you must (comply with) the standards set by the government," he explained.

Jakarta Basnas Bazis Chairman, Akhmad H Abu Bakar explained the area renovation program aims to provide new housing, a more organized green area and social space for residents to gather.

Based on the data collected, of the total 22 houses affected by the fire, 13 of them were completely renovated and seven were renovated moderately and lightly with a total budget of Rp 2.2 billion. While the other two houses were not renovated because the owners were unwilling.

Not only the houses of residents affected by the fire, his party also renovated five houses for TB sufferers. Technically, the implementation of the area arrangement involved the Public Housing and Settlement Areas Sub-agency (PRKP) and Public Works, Spatial Planning Sub-agency and Land (CKTRP) Sub-agency, as well as PLN, PAM Jaya, and PAL Jaya.

"Thank you to the governor, mayor, and all stakeholders who supported the implementation of this work," he added.

One of the beneficiary residents, Tuti Solihati, appreciated the assistance that had been received. She felt happy, because the house she lives in with her three children is now better than before.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), it's better. Built two floors complete with facilities," he said.
