TPS on Jalan Meruya Utara Asked to Be Closed

West Jakarta Mayor, Anas Effendi wants the Waste Disposal Site (TPS) that located at Jalan Meruya Utara, precisely on toll roadside of Kembangan Utara Urban Village, Kembangan, closed. This is because, the TPS makes the location looks dirty.

"I want the TPS to be closed as it makes Jalan Meruya Utara looks dirty and smell," he asked, Monday (5/11). 

Head of West Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department, Anggiat Togatorop stated the TPS is the asset of the city administration.

He claimed, the TPS was built to accommodate waste from 3 RWs in such urban village. As for the information, around waste around 70-80 weighing waste cart is disposed to the site. 

"Certainly, the TPS is located in one of the citizens' lands. Yet the building asset is the city administration's asset. As many as 2 trucks trash transported from the location routinely everyday," he told. 

However, he continued, his party cannot decide it yet whether the TPS would be closed or not. Because, it is hard to find the replacement. 

"I actually want the TPS closed as the location is not quite right. Yet, it is hard to find a new location for preventing the emergence of illegal TPS if the location closed. We will discuss it first with the mayor to find a right solution," he disclosed.
