2024-2029 City Council's Completion Apparatus Council Formed

Jakarta City Council's held plenary meeting to form Completion Apparatus Council (AKD) for 2024-2029 periods.

The AKD consists of Jakarta City Council Leaderships, Deliberative Council (Bamus), Commission, Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda), Budget Agency (Banggar), and Honorary Council (BK).

Jakarta City Council Chairman, Khoirudin said the determination in this plenary meeting was the result of a meeting between the City Council leadership and the faction leaders and in accordance with a letter from the faction regarding the faction members sitting in the AKD of the Jakarta Provincial City Council for the 2024-2029 periods.

"According to Article 31 of PP No 12/2018 about Guidelines for the Preparation of the City Council Internal Procedures (Tatib) for Provinces, Cities and Regencies, it is stated that the AKD consists of the City Council Leadership, Bamus, Bapemperda, Banggar, BK and other necessary supporting tools and is formed based on a Plenary Meeting," he said, Tuesday (10/8).

As representatives of the people, Khoirudin explained, City Council leaders and members must use the session period to discuss various important issued faced by Jakarta residents.

City Council has responsibility to supervise and evaluate policies that have been implemented and formulate solutions for Jakarta problems.

"This is an important momentum for us to reflect and plan strategic steps in carrying out our duties and responsibilities as representatives of the people," he explained.

According to him, Jakarta City Council leaders and members must be able interact with constituents in their respective electoral areas during recess period.

"It is aimed to listen to aspiration and gather information from residents. So that the policy taken is truly relevant to their needs," he added.

During the Plenary Meeting, Khoirudin detailed the activities that will be carried out during the first session and recess period of 2024. It is based on the Jakarta Provincial City Council Decree No 197/2023 about Jakarta City Council Activity Plan.

These activities include the formation of AKD, Coffee Morning, discussion of KUA-PPAS APBD for the 2025 Fiscal Year, discussion of the Draft Regional Regulation on the 2025 Fiscal Year APBD, continuing the discussion of the DPRD Regulation on the Rules of Procedure of the Jakarta Provincial DPRD, discussion of Regional Regulations, discussion of the 2025 Propemperda, and discussion of the 2025 DPRD Work Plan.

Then, carrying out the first recess activities of the leadership and members of the Jakarta Provincial DPRD, carrying out supervision of Regional Regulations and Governor Regulations, carrying out DPRD meeting activities, receiving audiences or community delegations, carrying out press statements at the end of 2024.

Khoirudin hopes the completion of AKD will ease City Council Legislators to run their duties and functions well for the sake of Jakarta residents welfare.

"We also invite residents to provide aspirations in developing Jakarta," he stated.
