He asserted that the meeting was needed to ensure the smooth running of the regional elections considering that it was one of the main tasks of the regional government in supporting and making the regional elections a success. As is well known, the Simultaneous Regional Elections will be held on November 27, 2024.
"Despite there has been a lot of coordination in the past, as the new Acting, we also need to update. This is one form of our commitment together with KPU and Bawaslu. Among them was providing a place to store ballots and distribute logistics. Even, he would monitor the voting with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).
"That is, how will logistics be distributed for the city environment, how will it be for the Seribu Islands, things like that have also been discussed earlier," he explained.
He then asserted that there would be strict sanctions if ASN did not maintain neutrality during the regional elections.
"Of course, ASNs who violate will be processed following applicable provisions. We leave it like that because there are already provisions regarding how ASN must behave to symbolize neutrality in this regional election," he asserted.
Jakarta KPU Commissioner, Fahmi Zikrillah explained he is currently in the process of preparing logistics and distribution. The distribution of ballot papers has now reached each KPU, both city and district.
"Around 133,000 people will undergo the inauguration of the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) on November 7, 2024. We also appreciate and express our highest gratitude for the facilities and support provided by the Jakarta Government," he explained.
Jakarta Bawaslu Chair, Munandar Nugraha, highlighted the neutrality of ASN. According to him, it was an important note in the implementation of the regional elections.
"We have also conveyed important notes from Bawaslu regarding ASN neutrality and the Acting Governor strongly supports its implementation. We have strengthened our commitment. We will collaborate on this activity to ensure that all ASNs in the Jakarta area can maintain clear neutrality," he said.
