Acting Jakarta Governor, Teguh Setyabudi, monitored the trial of Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) at SMKN 26 Rawamangun, East Jakarta, Monday (10/21).

"This activity is part of an effort to fulfill students' nutritional needs and ensure hygiene standards, as well as providing a good food menu. Each food package has been designed according to the calorie needs of adolescent students approaching adulthood, which is 750 calories per serving," Teguh said, as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Monday (10/21).

"The waste management is run together with nearest waste bank under East Jakarta Environment Agency's management," he added.
He also appreciated all parties involved in supporting today's activities. He hopes that in the future more parties can work together in providing Free Nutritious Meal in Jakarta.
"I appreciate PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya and PT Jakarta Tourisindo for supporting this activity," he continued.
According to him, Jakarta Provincial Government will always ready to support central government's programs and policies such as this free meal. Jakarta Provincial Government also commits to continue the program trial and monitoring food quality to meet students' nutritional needs with their preferred menus.
"This program is run to support the success of the government program related to Free Nutritious Meals, especially to fulfill the nutritional needs of students. And of course we will also develop it for other segments, for example for pregnant women, but we are still gradually moving towards that. We will continue to develop it and I hope Jakarta can be a role model for other regions in Indonesia," he stated.
