Jakarta Provincial Government Already Distributed 9,489 Free Meals Trial

Jakarta Provincial Government consistently holds trial of Free Nutritious Meal (MBG). As many as 9,489 meal packages have been distributed to elementary up to senior/vocational high school students from August 19, 2024.

Today, Wednesday (10/23), MBG trial was held at SMPN 270, North Jakarta through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Perumda PAM Jaya by providing 700 packages.

During the trial today, Acting Jakarta Governor Teguh Setyabudi accompanied Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka to monitor the distribution process at SMPN 270. Vice President Gibran said this visit was conducted to ensure that students received food with the required calories and to ensure that students liked the food.

"Similar like yesterday, the trial is conducted together with Acting Governor. 700 meal packages were distributed to SMPN 270 students. The composition consisted of teriyaki chicken, fried tofu, capcai vegetables, and oranges as a complement. Atmosphere at several classes was extraordinary," Gibran said, as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.

Acting Governor Teguh appreciated the role of Regional Owned Enterprise (BUMD) for supporting and providing the meal packages.

"Thanks God we are consistently distributing the packages during the trial. In accordance with the direction of the central government, we synergize in making this a success so that students can get enough nutrition and nutrients, so they can follow the learning process optimally. This is also a preparation in preparing the Golden Generation 2045," Teguh stated.

Meanwhile, Queena Cherylia, student of class IX of SMPN 270, appreciated the trial held at her school. According to her, the menu variants presented were very interesting.

"I like it so much. Hopefully the program can be continued. Thanks to Vice President Gibran and Acting Jakarta Governor Teguh," she admitted.

A total of 9,489 MBG packages have been distributed to eleven schools in Jakarta over the past two months. The details are: SDN Cideng 07, Central Jakarta, 498 packages; SDN Rawa Badak Utara 03, North Jakarta, 371 packages; SDN 04 Cipayung, East Jakarta, 800 packages; SDN Gunung 1 Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, 620 packages; SDN 01 and SMPN 03 Manggarai, South Jakarta, 1,500 packages; SDN 05 and 07 Wijaya Kusuma, West Jakarta, 700 packages; SDN 03 Rorotan, North Jakarta, 900 packages; SMAN 70 Bulungan, South Jakarta, 1,300 packages; SMKN 26 Rawamangun, East Jakarta, 1,600 packages; SDN Menteng 03, Central Jakarta, 500 packages; and SMPN 270, North Jakarta, 700 packages.

Meanwhile, the provision of MBG packages is carried out through the governor's operational funds (498 packages), as well as in synergy with Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), namely Perumda Dharma Jaya for three activities (2,421 packages), PT Bank DKI for four activities (2,570 packages), Perumda PAM Jaya for two activities (1,500 packages), PT Jakpro in one activity (900 packages), PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya in one activity (1,600 packages).
