Jatinegara Barat Flat Residents Participate Earthquake Response Simulation

As many as 150 residents and managements of Jatinegara Barat Flat, Thursday (10/24) participated the socialization and simulation of earthquake disaster response held by East Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling.

East Jakarta BPBD's Area Coordinator Taskforce Head, Sukendar, said participants were given educational materials about earthquake disasters, independent evacuation techniques, evacuation using stretchers and rescue simulations.

"The program was provided to give basic understanding of shelter and victim evacuation techniques when a disaster occurs," Sukendar said.

Hopefully the participants are able to deliver the knowledge given to other residents. It means residents know what to do when a disaster occurs.

Meanwhile, Jatinegara Barat UPRS Implementer Unit Head, Wednaerti, thanked and appreciated East Jakarta BPBD for providing socialization and education related to disaster handling.

"It's very useful for us living in a flat," she admitted.
