I hope that he (Mr. Firmansyah) will document his leadership in written form
It is a farewell for Jakarta Dispusip Head, Firmansyah, who will enter retirement starting next November.
Jakarta Library UPT and PDS HB Jasin Head, Diki Lukman Hakim said Literacy Harmony contains a series of discussion activities, book reviews, and launches, as well as a people's party. It was attended by the ranks of the Jakarta Dispusip together with the artist and cultural community at TIM, as well as media colleagues from the city hall.
Jakarta Library Holds Nusantara Manuscript Seminary"Initially, it was our initiative, but because there are many literacy and literary communities here, we joined forces," he expressed.
Even though he only served as Pusip Agency Head for 20 months, he assessed, Firmansyah's leadership figure had changed the public's perspective on Dispusip into something interesting.
In a short time, he was able to expose various potentials of Dispusip so that it became better known and closer to the public.
He cited that the number of visitors to the Jakarta Regional Library every day is around 1,000 people. That number increases on weekends to more than 3,500 visitors.
He hoped that even though he had retired, he was still willing to share his experience leading Dispusip.
"I hope that he (Mr. Firmansyah) will document his leadership in written form so that in the future it can be adopted to continue improving Dispusip," he hoped.
Jakarta Public Service Executive Director, Mohamad Syaiful Jihad assessed Firmansyah was a warm, humble figure who was easy to get along with in various circles. There were not many bureaucratic officials who had this kind of character.
"He is an energetic figure, I am sure that after he retires he will still want to socialize with all groups," he explained.
While Firmansyah uttered that during his tenure as Head of Jakarta Dispusip, he focused on two substances, namely libraries and archives.
For libraries, he focuses on improving reading culture by optimizing the existence of the Jakarta Library as an open space and community interaction.
As a result, currently, the Jakarta Library has become a tourist entity and is often used as a location for literacy activities and exhibitions by several countries such as Australia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Then the existence of the Jakarta Library which also manages the PDS HB Jasin makes it a benchmarking and center point for literature throughout Indonesia and even the world.
According to him, the great name of HB Jasin had provided an advantage in making it easier for artists, writers, and poets to collaborate and synergize in building literature so that it continues to grow.
The growth and development of literacy is very important to prepare the younger generation to face the era of global competition and to Jakarta as a Top Global City.
"In addition, dynamics are also important. How do we create activities that trigger and spur?," he added.
Regarding Archives, he emphasized the importance of making archives as information data that must be narrated frequently. Thus, all documents in OPD, BUMD, and the community would be able to provide detailed information on the development of the city and the people of Jakarta from time to time.
"I advise you to never get tired of being creative and innovative. Thus, the dynamics of literacy and reading culture in Jakarta continue to move," he closed.
