Jakarta Women's Badminton Team Advances to Semifinals

The Jakarta women's badminton team successfully advanced to the semifinals, after defeating a team from South Sumatra 3-0 in the final group stage at the Sports Faculty (FKOR) GOR, Sebelas Maret State University (UNS), Solo, Central Java, Friday (11/15).

The Jakarta Pra Popnas 2024 Badminton Coordinator, Rizal Fadhillah said the victory over South Sumatra made the women's badminton team rank first in the group and was entitled to a ticket to the semifinals.

"This victory makes us the group champion. For the opponent in the semifinal match, we are still waiting for the results from the next group," he expressed.

Jakarta Women's Volleyball Defeats Bengkulu

He continued the Jakarta women's badminton team is in one group with South Sumatra and South Kalimantan. While the other group consists of West Java, Lampung, and Bengkulu.

Meanwhile, the men's team would play their last match on Friday (11/15) afternoon. They were in the same group as Bengkulu and West Kalimantan.

Then the other groups in the men's team event are occupied by Lampung, West Java, and South Sumatra.

He hoped that the men's team could also qualify for the semifinals following the women's team.

"We're optimistic that the men's team can become group champions like the women's. We hope that both of these numbers can win first place," he said.
