The Jakarta student sepak takraw team has bagged two wins at Pra Popnas 2024. This result ensures that they get tickets to compete at Popnas 2025.

Sepak Takraw Manager for Pra Popnas 2024 Jakarta, Yusuf Majid said the sepak takraw match was held with a round robin system. All participants would meet each other to compete for the highest points.

"Those who will get tickets to Popnas 2025 are the first to third place winners. Currently we have won twice," he explained.

His team's first win was achieved on Wednesday (11/13) against the South Sumatra team with a score of 3-0. Then the second win was obtained against Bengkulu, also with a score of 3-0.

Then the next match will take place on Friday (11/15) against the Lampung student team. Finally, the Jakarta men's sepak takraw team will face a team from West Java on Sunday (11/17).

"The position with two wins, we have secured the Popnas ticket. But, we're still hunting for victory points to win the Pra Popnas gold," he asserted.

Jakarta Pra Popnas 2024 Men's Sepak Takraw Team Coach, Danny Surya Darmadi, admitted he was optimistic that his team could beat the student team from Lampung. In terms of game quality, his team has shown superiority in facing their opponents.

"In those two matches, no opponent got more than 10 points. Today against Lampung, we are also optimistic to win," he expressed.

Despite being technically superior, he has advised his players not to underestimate their opponents. Likewise when competing on the last day against West Java.

He uttered the quality of the Jakarta and West Java sepak takraw teams is not much different. Technically, both teams have players with almost equal individual and team technical abilities.

"What determines the match later is motivation and fighting spirit on the field. Our target is to win gold with a clean sweep of victories," he stated.
