Floods in Cilandak Timur Recede Completely

The Cilandak Timur Urban Village Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that floods that hit Jalan NIS, RT 03 and 08/RW 03, Cilandak Timur Urban Village, Pasar Minggu Sub-district, South Jakarta, have receded completely.

At 4 AM, floods in the two RTs have completely receded

Cilandak Timur Urban Village BPBD Head, Sopian said the 130-180-centimeter-high flood that hit the two RTs was triggered by heavy rain yesterday afternoon.

"The rain lasted quite a long time, causing the Krukut River which crosses the Cilandak Timur Urban Village to overflow, hitting the road and residential areas," he expressed, Wednesday (11/20).

He explained five personnel and one boat were deployed to evacuate residents to a safer place. The prepared location was at Al-Makmuriah Musla, Baitul Hikmah Mosque, and Cilandak RPTRA, accommodating 86 people.

"At 4 AM, floods in the two RTs have completely receded. Then residents have returned to their homes," he explained.

RT 09/03 Caretaker, Jayadi (56) expressed their gratitude to all parties who had helped residents quickly since the flooding occurred, especially for the evacuation process.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), at night, all government officials, from urban village heads, sub-district heads to mayors, came here and paid special attention to us," he closed.
