PPSU Marunda Standby to Assist Residents Affected by Tidal Flood

Marunda Urban Village, North Jakarta, deployed 10 PPSU personnel to RW 07 residential affected by tidal flood, Wednesday (11/20).
The water usually recedes in the afternoon
Marunda Urban Village Head, Agung Dian Cahyo, said the tidal flood is a common occurrence during high tide. The water enters residential areas from sheetpile gaps in the Tirem River estuary.

Agung explained the affected areas are RT 01, 02, and RT 07 of RW 07. PPSU personnel were deployed to affected residential to monitor the areas and assist residents if the water continues to increase and is impacting residents' settlement.
"The deepest water level was 30 cm at 12 PM. The peak of tidal flood occurs at noon and continues to recede in the afternoon," he explained.
One of traders at Marunda Beach, Rasti, admitted the tidal flood occurred since 9 AM and usually to recede in the afternoon.
"The visitors usually come here in the afternoon when the tidal flood is gone," she admitted.
