The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has announced that Car Free Day (CFD) on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman will be canceled on Sunday (11/24), coinciding with the quiet period for the Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada) 2024.

Jakarta Dishub Head, Syafrin Liputo said it is following Gubernatorial Regulation Mandate Number 12/2016 on CFD.

"Under the mandate, CFD can be canceled if there are special activities at the same time that require traffic diversion and security," he expressed, Friday (11/22).

He explained that it was conducted to follow up on the General Election Commission (KPU) Regulation Number 13/2024 on the Election of Governor, Vice Governor, Regent, and Vice Regent.

"In KPU regulations, the quiet period lasts for three days starting from November 24 to 26 before voting day," he explained.

He added that Dishub had recommended canceling the implementation of CFD on November 24, 2024, following applicable regulations.

"We call on residents to understand this policy and continue to support the implementation of Jakarta Pilkada 2024," he said.
