Acting Jakarta Governor Teguh Setyabudi, opened the Jakarta Pilkada (regional elections) Desk Evaluation activity or Joint Post for Jakarta Governor and Vice Governor Election 2024 at City Hall, Wednesday (11/20).

He ensured the security and public order (kamtibmas) situation in Jakarta would remain safe, stable, and under control ahead of the simultaneous Pilkada which falls on November 27, 2024.

"Thus far, the security and public order situation in Jakarta is deemed stable ahead of Pilkada after the holding a meeting with Forkopimda, KPU, and Bawaslu," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta Provincial Government's press release, Thursday (11/21).

On that occasion, he expressed his appreciation to all election organizers, as well as various parties who supported the regional elections so that they could take place safely and peacefully. He hoped, the election could run smoothly.

"That's why, there needs to be a solid and professional synergy between Forkopimda, KPU, Bawaslu, DKPP, and political parties. Hope the Pilkada in Jakarta will run safely and orderly," he explained.

Further, the Jakarta Government was committed to smoothen the upcoming Pilkada, thus it is implemented directly, publicly, freely, secretly, honestly, and fairly, as well as with dignity and integrity.

Several stages of the Pilkada implementation have been passed, such as planning violations and campaigns. Meanwhile, the Pilkada stages that still have to be faced are the quiet period from November 24 until the voting on November 27, 2024.

Then the activity continued with the vote counting and recapitulation of the vote counting, until the determination of the elected gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates, as well as the inauguration of the definitive Regional Head resulting from the Pilkada.

"We would like to thank all related parties, including Forkopimda, KPU, Bawaslu, and other stakeholders who worked together to make the simultaneous Pilkada in Jakarta a success," he explained.

In the meantime, City Secretary, Marullah Matali added that until now, the Pilkada campaign has run safely and smoothly.

Likewise, security and public order were maintained thanks to the cooperation of all parties, including the national army (TNI), Police, Satpol PP, and the community.

"We see positive things here, such as increasing public awareness in participating in campaign activities, either directly and through social media," he explained.

He explained reports of campaign violations to date had been minimal. It reflects the candidate pairs' compliance with KPU regulations, as well as their commitment to the principles of healthy democracy.

"Good synergy also continues to be made between election organizing agencies, candidate success teams, and stakeholders in overseeing the campaign stages so that they are carried out safely, orderly, peacefully, and smoothly," he concluded.
