Legislator Komisi B: Proyek Perpipaan PAM Jaya untuk Tingkatkan Layanan

Commission B Wants PAM Jaya Pipeline Project to Improve Services

Jakarta (Legislative Council) DPRD Commission B legislator, Francine Widjojo, said that the clean water pipe project being conducted by Perumda PAM Jaya is important to improve the quality and coverage of services.

This work continues to be done massively in various areas of Jakarta

According to her, Perumda PAM Jaya was tasked with ensuring 100 percent clean water service coverage through the pipe network by 2030.

"This work continues to be done massively in various areas of Jakarta. Thus, of course, it can have an impact on traffic jams," she expressed, Thursday (12/5).

Commission B Legislator Appreciates Transjakarta Lane Sterilization

He requested that PAM Jaya intensify good socialization regarding the work plans that will be conducted, as well as alternative road routes that residents can use.

"It must be done maximally, including notifications regarding work schedules, alternative routes that can be taken, as well as project implementation objectives," he explained.

He hoped that all the work timelines conducted could be completed according to the target. If needed, it would be accelerated.

"PAM Jaya pipe installation must be done efficiently, quickly, and taking into account traffic conditions around the location," he explained.

Another Commission B Legislator, Muhammad Taufik Zoelkifli wanted them to pay attention to hygiene conditions at the project site.

"Don't let any soil get spilled, especially during the rainy season because it could endanger road users," he uttered.

His party had held an audience with PAM Jaya to improve the scope and quality of its services to all Jakarta residents.

"They have a good long-term plan in providing drinking water," he asserted.

They were targeting to build 18 water treatment plants (IPAs) by 2030.

"The number of customers is also targeted to reach 2,006,167 with a target pipe length of up to 19,234 kilometers. Then, non-revenue water can be reduced by at least 30 percent," he explained.

He added it would take a long time to improve the quality and service of water considering that the water pipes owned by PAM Jaya were more than 100 years old.

"To solve it, most of the pipes must be replaced with newer ones of better quality," he stated.
