Commission E Secretary Proposes Incentives for Historic Building Owners

Jakarta City Council Commission E Secretary, Justin Adrian proposed for incentive to be given to historic buildings owners with cultural heritage status.

Justin said that it is important for historic building owners to preserve cultural heritage. That is why incentive should be provided.

"Hopefully the provision of this incentive will motivate historic buildings owners to contribute more in preserving cultural heritage," he said, Monday (12/9).

Justin also wants regulations related to the protection and preservation of cultural heritage in Jakarta to be strengthened.

"Damaged historic buildings restoration can be accelerated," he stated.

As for information, Jakarta Provincial Government through the Governor's Decree (SK) has designated a total of 305 cultural heritage sites up to today since the formation of the Cultural Heritage Expert Team (TACB) in 2014.

Those are cultural heritage objects, cultural heritage buildings, cultural heritage structures, cultural heritage sites, and cultural heritage areas.

Then Jakarta Provincial Government has designated 18 cultural heritage sites consisting of 12 buildings and six structures during 2022-2024.
