BPBD Ensures Fire Survivors of Kebon Kosong are Well Handled

Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Agency (BPBD) ensures the fire case on Jalan Kemayoran Gempol RW 05 Kebon Kosong Urban Village, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta is not causing fatalities. But as many as 66 families with 1,800 people from 8 RTs in RW 5 Kebon Kosong Urban Village lost their house.

Based on Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency's data, electrical short circuit from one of the houses caused the fire. The fire was fully extinguished at 7:59 PM on Tuesday (12/10).

"The fire survivors are relocated at SDN Kebon Kosong 09 and on an empty land on Jalan Benyamin Suaeb," he said.

Isnawa added that 13 injured residents during the incident have been treated fully. They also have received treatment at the hospital and health center.

According to Isnawa, his side also built three tents in two locations to accommodate the refugees.

His side also distributed assistances such as 120 boxes of mineral water, 1,800 of food boxes, 650 clothing packages, six units of fan, as well as blankets, family kits, kids ware, and mattrasses by 500 packages each.

Isnawa explained several regional working units also prepared assistances based on their main tasks. As the example, Central Jakarta Environmental Sub-agency prepared six mobile toilets.

Then Central Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency prepared lighting, and Central Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Sub-agency prepared generator.

Meanwhile, Jakarta BPBD's Emergency and Logistic Division Head, Zaini Miftah admitted psychosocial team will also be deployed to check fire survivors' psychological.

" Psychosocial team is prepared for mothers and children of fire survivors. We try to provide trauma healing for them," he explained.
