Jakarta DPRD Commission E Legislator, Farah Savira, appreciated the Jakarta Provincial Government's steps in providing assistance to fire victims in Kebon Kosong Urban Village, Kemayoran Sub-district, Central Jakarta.

According to her, responsive response from all related agencies was conducted to minimize losses and help meet the needs of fire victims.
"We appreciate Jakarta Government's steps and quick actions, especially the Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) and Social Agency (Dinsos) in handling the fire in Kebon Kosong," she expressed, (12/12).
City Govt Provides Best Service for Fire Victims in KemayoranAccording to her, fire incidents were prone to occur in densely populated areas. Hence, socialization and education on fire prevention and early handling for residents should be intensified.
"We must cooperate with PLN to prevent improper electrical installation," she explained.
She also proposed that every RT/RW in Jakarta to have a portable fire extinguisher (APAR) and provide training on its use.
"This is important so that people can put out fires more quickly," she explained.
Another Commission E Legislator, Dina Masyusin uttered data collection and verification of victims' data had been conducted, to push services according to needs.
Then the Jakarta Government had collected data on children affected by fire to ensure they could remain in school.
"We're sure that Jakarta Government is acting quickly in matters like this, as we can see the Dinsos where they provide refugee tents to food and drink needs," she added.
She also welcomed the implementation of distance learning (PJJ) for fire survivor students.
"I want the Disdik to ensure that they can also ensure that school supplies assistance is met," she uttered.
As previously reported, the fire in Kebon Kosong Urban Village resulted in 600 families with 1,800 people from 8 RTs in RW 05 losing their homes.
