Jakarta Provincial Government Focuses on Receding Tidal Flood and Distributing Assistance for Impacted Residents

Jakarta Provincial Government quickly handles tidal flood that hit Marunda Pulo and Pluit, North Jakarta.

Jakarta Regional Disaster Handling Agency Head, Isnawa Adji said the flood starts to recede and assistances have been distributed to the impacted residents.

"Tidal flood Marundo Pulo receded at 1:50 PM and local residents were able to do their activity. But the water is still inundating three RTs namely RT 05, 10, and 002 on Jalan Dermaga Ujung, Muara Angke, Pluit Urban Village up to 3 PM. There are residents taking refugee," he said, Monday (12/16).

Tidal Flood in Marunda and Pluit Starts to Recede

Isnawa added that Jakarta BPBD personnel also cooperates with Jakarta Water Resources Agency, Jakarta Social Agency, Jakarta Environmental Agency, Jakarta Satpol PP, PPSU personnel and Babinsa in handling the tidal flood.

"We also prepare one rubber boat and polyethylene boat as Muara Angke residents transportation," he added.

Meanwhile, Acting Jakarta Water Resource Agency Head, Ika Agustin Ningrum explained her side also prepares polder pump, mobile pump, stationary pump, and taskforce personnel to assist the tidal flood handling.

"We also prepare personnel to operate pumps and optimize water channel," she explained.

Moreover, Jakarta Social Agency also distributed food for the impacted residents.

Jakarta Social Agency Head, Premi Lasari stated North Jakarta Social Sub-agency distributed 2,100 rice boxes with mineral water everyday for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

"The food distribution has been running since December 12 ago. We'll keep monitor the residents also," she stated.
