Munjirin Inaugurates Four Communal Toilets in South Jakarta

South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin inaugurated four communal toilets at RPTRA Belimbing, Jalan Masjid Al-Faalah, RT 05/02, Pasar Minggu.

The four inaugurated communal toilets are in Grogol Selatan Urban Village, Kebayoran Lama Sub-district; Tanjung Barat and Jagakarsa Urban Villages, Jagakarsa Sub-district, and Pasar Minggu Urban Village, Pasar Minggu Sub-district.

"I appreciate South Jakarta Water Resource Sub-agency Head for constructing the four communal toilets. This is the prove that our government cares about environmental cleanliness and public health," he said, Monday (12/23).

Munjirin added that stunting in South Jakarta can be also managed trough the construction of these four communal toilets. It makes parents, especially pregnant women, can get healthier life with clean and usable toilets.

"An unhealthy environment means the lives of parents are also unhealthy. It is impacted the baby in the mother's womb. This condition can cause stunting," he added.

Not only inaugurating communal toilets, the South Jakarta Administration also provided assistance in form of basic food such as rice, vegetable, egg and fish from South Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency. Fruits were also given to five toddlers indicated with stunting from Pasar Minggu Urban Village.

"Hopefully the provided supporting facilities can give better life for residents living in South Jakarta," he hoped.

Meanwhile , South Jakarta Water Resource Sub-agency Head, Santo explained the communal toilet in Pasar Minggu Urban Village can serve 100 residents. Then in Tanjung Barat Urban Village by 77 residents, Grogol Selatan Urban Village by 40 residents, and Jagakarsa Urban Village by 25 residents.

"Communal toilets are constructed to handle or reduce stunting in South Jakarta. Similar program will be continued in several areas with low sanitation quality," he admitted.
