Ahok: Traditional Markets in Capital Free from Fake Rice

Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama ensured fake rice does not circulating in traditional market under PD Pasar Jaya management. Moreover Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade (KUKMP) Sub-Department has managed raid and examined of rice that sold in markets throughout capital.

Fake Rice Raid in Jakarta Keeps Being Intensified

“We ensured there are no fake rice circulated in whole of PD Pasar Jaya in capital,” he said at City Hall, Monday (5/25).

Ahok asserted that PD Pasar Jaya has given guarantee that rice does not contain any plastic material which been through tightly examination process.

“We checked it and ensured that rice which sold in PD Pasar jaya did not contain any plastic material,” he expressed.

Ahok admitted all rice sold at markets has been through a laboratory test.

“Along with Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) we agreed to cooperate and take an action if there are trader who caught cheating, with no reluctant we will drive them out from market,” he told.

Previously, Dwi Ananto, the director of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya ensured fake rice are not sold in Cipinang Induk Market, East Jakarta. Due to the market routinely to monitor the rice circulating in the market.

“We will build laboratory to test rice sample in the market. Therefore the quality itself is guaranteed to keep control of supply and stable price,” he disclosed.
