City Rises Revenue Target at Rp 48 Trillion in 2025

The city administration has increased the targeted tax revenue of 2025 by 48 trillion.

We will keep monitoring and evaluating tax revenues to maximize every potential regional revenue

Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) Head, Lusiana Herawati said this target reflects the government's optimism in increasing regional revenue through optimizing tax management to support city development.

According to her, this year's strategies to be made focus on improving supervision, technological innovation, and collaboration with stakeholders.

City's Regional Tax Touches Rp 44,46 Trillion

"We will keep monitoring and evaluating tax revenues to maximize every potential regional revenue," she expressed, Wednesday (1/8).

To reach the target, eight strategic steps for tax optimization had been made, such as monitoring and evaluating revenue, to monitor and assess tax realization periodically. Then was regional tax socialization via media, to increase public awareness of tax obligations.

There was also the confirmation of new tax objects, especially for Certain Services Material Tax (PBJT) such as hotels, entertainment, and restaurants. What is no less important is updating regional tax data, namely by identifying new tax objects and reducing tax leakage.

Aside that, tax collection with a forced letter, namely taking action against tax defaulters, collaborating with stakeholders, namely by strengthening data integration between agencies and improving electronic services by facilitating tax payments through digital systems, as well as implementing the eTrapt feature, namely facilitating real-time PBJT tax payments and reporting.

She explained one of Bapenda's flagship innovations is eTrapt feature, which allows taxpayers to report and pay taxes practically and quickly, especially for hotel, restaurant, entertainment, and parking sectors.

"We believe this system can improve reporting accuracy and encourage tax compliance," she explained.

She emphasized the importance of active participation by the public and entrepreneurs in supporting the tax target 2025. With proper strategies, the city administration was optimistic that the tax revenue target could be achieved and support the vision of a global city.

"Besides the best services, we also educate the community about the importance of taxes for the development of Jakarta," she closed.
