Vaccinating pets and controlling stray animal populations are crucial to curb rising rabies cases in Jakarta, especially in South Jakarta.
This achievement exceeded the target by 119 percent
Hereby, the South Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency (KPKP) recorded that 11,586 animals had received anti-rabies vaccines along 2024.
South Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Hasudungan A Sidabalok expressed rabies vaccination aimed at maintaining animal health and Jakarta as a rabies-free city.

His sub-agency also had sterilized 1,634 local cats last year.
"We collaborated with veterinarians, animal clinics and so forth," he explained.
He hoped that the action above would have an impact on the health of the animal and its owner.
"Hopefully, this year, we can reach more people. But, I also want the owners to increase their care for their pets," he stressed.
