He furthered those buildings will be demolished gradually, because there are two areas that will be controlled. “On this day, we control around one RT in West Jakarta, where its distance reaches three meters from river,” he furthered.

Besides Kosambi Flat, Jakarta Provincial Government is also adding flats in Marunda Flat in North Jakarta to accommodate the locals. “The demolishment aim is to persuade them to move to a decent place. Mr. Governor would prosper local people who live on the edge of the riverbank, ranging from home, education, and healthy. It's still being processed,” he finished.

Previously or precisely on Tuesday (5/26) night, dozens of Pinangsia residents came to Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama's home located in Pantai Mutiara Residence, Pluit. Those demanded Ahok to stop the demolishment plan against buildings along Ciliwung Riverbank.

But, Ahok ignored it and insisted on his plan. He asserted, the demolishment aims to minimize flood and traffic congestion potential. Even, he suspected that those people last night are the land renters. Allegedly, they were disappointed over their business that was piqued by Jakarta government.

“These people had come here before and asked me to delay the demolishtment until the implementation of the national exam is done. And also promised to move, but I ignored it because If I agreed it, they would come again, protest, and ask me to do it after Eid ul Fitr,” stressed Ahok, City Hall, Wednesday (5/27) morning.
