Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency, Thursday (1/9), launched the residential hydrant house at RT 01/07 Cempaka Putih Barat, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta.

Acting Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Head, Satriadi Gunawan said the construction of residential hydrant house aims to accelerate fire handling. This hydrant is the 40th unit operated across Jakarta.

"Our target is densely populated area. Hopefully it can accelerate the fire handling and minimize the impact," he said, Thursday (1/9).

He explained that the hydrant is equipped with stationary pump with a coverage area of ​​one kilometer and a water tank with a capacity of 14 thousand liters of water. The amount of water in the tank is equivalent to the capacity of three medium-sized fire trucks.

He added that the hydrant can also be used to clean the environment or suck inundation during rainy season.

Moreover, his side also has formed firefighter volunteer in the area to operate the hydrant as early handling.

Meanwhile, Cempaka Putih Barat Urban Village Head, Annisa Titisunda hopes the residents are able to use the hydrant maximally in handling the fire and support the social activity.

"Surely we are not expecting any disaster happens. But the hydrant should be able to minimize the impact " she admitted.
