Drug Circulation Prevention Education Held in Johar Baru

Central Jakarta Administration collaborated with National Anti-Narcotics Movement (Granat), Monday (1/13), held education about drug circulation prevention at Johar Baru Sub-district Office.

The activity led by Mayor Arifin was participated by 48 participants of LMK, RT/RW caretakers, Dasa Wisma Cadre, PKK, religious figure and Karang Taruna.

Arifin hoped the activity will increase the public awareness and vigilance in anticipating drug circulation in Johar Baru Sub-district.

"The activity discussed about how to prevent the drug circulation in the area," he said.

Arifin added that the activity also discussed the community's effort in preventing drug circulation. One of the efforts is intensifying the joint monitoring of residential areas.

"Joint patrol of Binmas and Babinkamtibmas together with residents at prone hours will eliminate not only drugs circulation but also to give secure and safety for residents," he added.

Deputy General Secretary of Granat, Nita Azhar, explained the activity aimed to strengthened the understanding and awareness of community in preventing drugs.

Nita stated that this two years program will be continued with mentoring for community. Program to prevent drug circulation will be provided later based on the local community characteristic and social patterns.

"Along with sources of support, we will accompany them in creating program to ensure they can prevent drug circulation," she stated.
