Dinsos Returns PPKS to Their Areas of Origin

The Jakarta Social Agency (Dinsos) returned 100 people with social welfare issues (PPKS) who had been coached in several social institutions to their areas of origin. 50 people headed to West Java and 50 others to Central Java.

PPKS who were repatriated included abandoned people, abandoned elderly people, and people with mental disorders (ODGJ) who had previously been separated from their families.

This PPKS repatriation program is a follow-up to the Mitra Praja Utama Cooperation Agreement between ten provinces, including Jakarta, for joint handling of PPKS.

Jakarta Social Agency's Social Rehabilitation Sector Head, Maria Margaretha said they received health services, social guidance, and skills training while in foster care, which helped them remember their addresses and families.

"With the guidance provided during your stay at the orphanage, please use it all to start a better life in your hometown," she expressed, Thursday (11/7).

These PPKS will be greeted by the Transit Social Services Unit in West Java and the Margo Widodo Social Services Center in Central Java before being forwarded to their place of origin or picked up by their families at those locations.

"There are some of them who have participated in this repatriation more than once. This means that after being repatriated, they return to Jakarta and become PPKS again in Jakarta. I hope this is the last one to be repatriated to their home region," he closed.
