KPKP Agency Tested 37,314 Food Sample in 2024

Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture (KPKP) Agency routinely holds integrated food monitoring in several areas in Jakarta.

As many as 37,314 food samples were tested during 2024. As the result, 99.99 percent of the samples were declared safe.

Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati said the supervision aims to ensure the food security for resident.

KPKP Agency Intensifies Food Supervision in South Jakarta

She explained that the supervision was held at 101 markets owned by Perumda Pasar Jaya, 29 modern retail markets and five MSME coaching locations.

"We need to ensure the food distributed at the markets are safe," she said, Tuesday (1/14).

According to her, the test was carried out by using a rapid test method to detect formalin, pesticide residue, chlorine and Eber bacteria.

"It is part of Jakarta Provincial Government in maintaining resident's health and support Jakarta as a global city," she stated.

As for information, the supervision included three main commodities namely;

1. Agriculture (vegetable, fruit, and rice) with total 5,944 samples

2. Husbandry (beef, chicken, and chicken intestine) with total 19,687 samples

3. Fishery (fresh fish) with total 11,683 samples
