Several roads that will become running track in Jakarta
International 10K competition will be closed down on Monday (5/31). The attempt
carried out to provide convenient for around 35,000 athletes who participate
the annual event as part of its celebration of
the city’s 488th anniversary.

Monument (Monas) with a route that follows Jl Budi Kemuliaan, Jl Abdul Muis, Jl
Majapahit, Jl Gajahmada and return to Monas trough Jl Hayam Wuruk, Jl Medan
Merdeka.
The Chairman of 10k’s run organizer, Asep Rahmat Hidayat
acknowledged the 35,000 participants are come from various parties such as
students, civil, Army/Police, including professional foreign and domestic runners.
The committee will set up tightly security throughout crossings knot by
involving related officers.
“Such crossings knot will be guide by joint officers that comprise
of University students of UNJ, Pengprov PASI, City Transportation
Sub-Department, Army/Police and Jakarta Sports
and Youth Department (Disorda) as
the organizer. We must secure the participants,” he said, Friday (5/29).
Therefore his side
urged the riders to not pass in the running tracks and go find out alternate
way. Riders merely have to follow the traffic signs or follow the instruction
from the officers who standby along running tracks.
His side hoped the
competition will run smoothly. Concerning so many international athletes from
several countries that participated such as Kenya, Nigeria, Japan, Ethiopia and
Italy.
